On Wednesday, August 15th, the Community Media Center is pulling back the curtain to give our members a behind-the-scenes look at how your media center works for you and the rest of our community. "CMC All-Access" will include live radio and TV broadcasts, giving CMC members a chance to share how they have learned and grown through our technology and education programs. The event will also represent a final push in CMC's $2.4 million capital campaign, which wraps up in September. The Cowpie Blues Festival returns to West Michigan on Saturday, August 11. The line-up includes Jimmie Stagger, Those Delta Rhythm Kings, The Detroit Women, Motor City Josh, Blue Lunch, Joanna Connor and a headline performance from C.J. Chenier. WYCE programmers will be on hand to announce the bands, and to hand out WYCE goodies. The Cow Pie Blues Festival takes place at Shagbark Farms in Alaska, Michigan -- near Caledonia. Doors open at 9am and festival goers are welcome to set up a tent and spend the night at the farm. Tickets are available at all Star Tickets Plus Outlets.

On Thursday August 16, local musician and songwriter Karisa Wilson will release her debut album "Little Girl" with a release party at Wealthy Theater. Karisa has performed with many local groups over the years, but will present this solo project with full backing band in a very special night of music, with opening performance by Lux Land. On Tuesday, August 7th at 7:00PM the Club hosts Fancy Thermos, The Adam Pringle Band and Seth Bernard and Daisy May. WYCE Fall Classic (click for more info)
After a rained-out event in 2006, WYCE's annual golf scramble makes its triumphant return in September. The "WYCE Fall Classic" will be held at Alpine Golf Club in Alpine Township. We have reserved space for 18 foursomes in this fundraiser event, so space is limited. Individual registration is $50; teams of four are $150. Entry fees include 18 holes of golf with cart, a BBQ lunch, and two drink tickets. As always, golf skills are recommended, but not necessary to have a good time! The WYCE Fall Classic will take place at noon on Saturday, September 15th. Registration and payment must be made to WYCE by the end of business on Friday, September 7th.
