Grand Rapids Film Society Roundtable

What is a Film Society Roundtable? At this Roundtable event, you split up into groups, with a moderator from the Film Society Board that will help facilitate conversation and take notes. In your group, you will all be offered equal opportunities to talk. It is a networking event as well as a support group. Your group will have around an hour and a half to meet your fellow group members, talk about production, writing, challenges you're facing, ideas for the community, or your perspective on cinema.  

This June the Film Society Roundtable will have a roundtable with a focus on Representation. Our goal is to foster more conversation around representation in films, on sets, and in the writing process. We encourage your groups to discuss these topics, however any topic is welcome for discussion as always. We will split into 3 different sections: Filmmaking, Cinephiles, and Screenwriting. 

Doors will open at 6:30pm for mingling, and the roundtables will start at 7:00pm.

We welcome everyone to come and share and/or learn more. This is a safe and affirming space to share experiences, ask questions, and talk with your peers.  

Must Register!

For the upcoming Film Society Roundtable on 6/15, we will be having you register by field of interest (ie. filmmaking, cinephiles, and screenwriting). This is for our team to gauge the audience’s interest and set up the groups accordingly. If you just want to come and don’t have a particular interest - just choose general admission. Whatever choice you make will not be finite. You are welcome to change groups the night-of or for future events.
