Two Gallants are made up of Adam Stephens (b. 1981) on guitar, harmonica and vocals and Tyson Vogel (b. 7 November 1981) on drums and vocals. Stephens and Vogel started gigging around San Francisco as Two Gallants in 2002, when both were twenty; the two had been making music together since the age of twelve. They made two separate self-released CDs, which are now out of print.

The Community Media Center presents Shine On!, a special night of live music, good drink and friends - in memory of Dirk Koning. Dirk was the founding Executive Director of the Community Media Center and a pioneer in public media nationally and internationally. Live music at the "Shine On" event will be provided by Ralston Bowles, Seth Bernard and Daisy May and includes a special musical dedication to Dirk by the Embellish Handbell Choir. This special night of music and remembrance is designed to celebrate the legacy of the man who started it all. Shine On! takes place on Tuesday, February 10th at 7:30pm at Wealthy Theatre. Tickets are available at the Wealthy Theatre Box Office or by visiting wealthytheatre.org

WYCE is pleased to support Calvin College's presentation of two fine shows this month. First, Calvin College welcomes Fiction Family to the Ladies' Literary Club tomorrow, January 14th. Fiction Family is made up of Jon Foreman from rock-band Switchfoot,and Sean Watkins from folk-group Nickel Creek. Then on January 20th, Calvin welcomes The Blind Boys Of Alabama to the Fine Arts Center. Formed sometime in the late 1930's, the Blind Boys will be receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award at The Grammys this year. Shows begin at 8pm and more information can be found by visiting the concert page at wyce.org

As we gear up for the 10th Annual Jammie Awards, coming February 17th, WYCE and the Meanwhile Bar present a trio of Thursday night events at Wealthy Theatre. The Pre-Jammie Jams are back! Each night, we'll present extended sets from a pair of Jammie-nominated artists. Up first, on January 22nd at 8 pm, join us for The Mickeys and Joel Mabus. The Mickeys are led by twin sisters Amy & Julie Mickey, whose compelling sibling harmonies propel a mix of Americana, Celtic and Blues. Joel Mabus is a Michigan music legend playing in support of two 2008 releases - Retold and the Joel Mabus Omnibus. Also on the way in the series, it's Breathe Owl Breathe and Rachael Davis Thursday, January 29th. And on February 5th we present Tomas Esparza and Delilah DeWylde. Tickets for The Mickeys and Joel Mabus are just $5 in advance, $10 the day of the show. Tickets may be purchased through wyce.org or the Wealthy Theatre Box Office. The Meanwhile Bar will host Afterglow Parties immediately following the Pre-Jammie Jams.
