The 5th Annual Avenue for the Arts Market brings music and artwork to downtown Grand Rapids all summer long. Every second Saturday of the month the 100 block of South Division provides local music and art from 4-9PM. Michigan Family Resources is collaborating with Cherry Street Health Services to provide dental services for 500 children that will attend Head Start this fall. The collaboration provides preventive dental services and education to children who otherwise might not have access. Three clinics will take place in various locations throughout greater Grand Rapids in June, July and August. This August, the city of Greenville celebrates its proud heritage with the 44th annual Danish Festival. The four-day Festival will feature live music, arts and crafts, parades, contests and demonstrations. WYCE is pleased to welcome the first-ever Silver Maple Music Festival to Grand Rapids this weekend. This premiere event will feature performances from The Ragbirds, Greensky Bluegrass, Big Leg Emma, Aphrodesia, Railroad Earth, and Donna the Buffalo. The city of Grand Rapids announces that there will be no Refuse, Recycling or Yard Waste Collections for Grand Rapids residents on Friday, July 4, 2008. The usual Friday collections will be on Saturday, July 5, 2008. The Yard Waste Drop-Off Site at 2001 Butterworth SW, will be closed on Friday, July 4, 2008, but will be open on Saturday, July 5, 2008. Residents with questions may call the Streets and Sanitation Department at 456-3232.

Project Rehab, a part of Proaction Behavioral Health Alliance, is celebrating its 40th year of service to the community. In recognition of the courage of those served over the past 40 years, Project Rehab is publishing a collection of 40 success stories about former clients.
