All are welcome to view the oldest continuous Fourth of July parade in Grand Rapids, the 74th annual Hollyhock Lane Parade. The parade, full of participation from neighborhood children, uses a route including Calvin Ave., Iroquois Drive and Giddings Ave. -- between Alexander and Franklin Streets. After the parade, there will be a brief ceremony in the alley behind 847 Giddings SE, with speaker Grand Rapids Chief of Police Kevin Belk, followed by jazz music from Elgin Vines and Company. The parade begins at 8:30 a.m. on July 4th and lasts about 30 minutes, starting on the corner of Calvin and Alexander Streets on the southeast side of Grand Rapids.

The Ottawa Hills Neighborhood Association invites you to its 15th annual Walking Tour of the Gardens of Historic Ottawa Hills. Twelve gardens are featured in this free tour, showcasing the creative use of plants and flowers in urban settings. The Ottawa Hills Neighborhood is bordered by Franklin and Hall Streets and by Giddings Avenue and Cadillac Drive in Southeast Grand Rapids. Maps and parking are available on the north side of Iroquois Middle School, 1050 Iroquois SE. The Ottawa Hills Walking Tour takes place Saturday, June 28th from 9am to 1pm.
