The ultimate rock & roll session man, Leon Russell's long and storied career includes collaborations with a virtual who's who of music icons. Leon is touring in support of a trio of new recordings released in January of this year, Almost Piano, Bad Country, and In Your Dreams. "Wednesdays At Wealthy" is a weekly event at Wealthy Theatre. Every second Wednesday of the month WYCE rocks out with a musical event. In June, we welcome Stacey Earle and Mark Stuart, presented by Hopcat. There is an innocent quality to Stacey Earle's voice, it seems honest and clear. Her husband and musical counterpart Mark Stuart adds his warmth to their union. Together, they share the lead, the writing and the road. The FREE show starts at 7:00PM on Wednesday June 11th at Wealthy Theatre. Blandford Video Contest (click for more info)
Aspiring filmmakers and hobbyists are invited to come out to the Blandford Nature Center center and make videos to show what the center means to them. These short movies should highlight the mission of Blandford Nature Center & Mixed Greens—which emphasizes our community’s connection to the land and nature, through a variety of programs. Grand prize is a pair of tickets to see Jack Johnson at the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, MI. All videos must be submitted by Wednesday, May 28th. Videos will be posted to Blandford's YouTube account on June 2nd, and will remain there until June 6th. Information and instructions for this contest is available at www.mixedgreens.org
