The Literacy Center of West Michigan (click for more info)As many as 1 in 8 adults in west Michigan cannot read or write above a ninth grade level. Low literacy often prevents these individuals from accessing the rich social and economic resources in our community.
You can make a difference by becoming a tutor. No special skills are needed - just an ability to read and write in English and a passion to help someone else do the same.
For more information, call Literacy Center of West Michigan at 616 459-5151 or sign up for a volunteer orientation online at "Literacy Center W M dot org."
