Grand Rapids Public Museum: Ethnic Heritage Festival (click for more info)The Grand Rapids Public Museum is hosting the Ethnic Heritage Festival featuring music, dance, craft demonstrations, food and vendors representing various groups that call West Michigan home. The event will also feature the public premier of the new Planetarium show, "Everbodyâs Sky: Star Stories from Around the World."
The Ethnic Heritage Festival is Saturday, January 19th at the Public Museum of Grand Rapids. Opening ceremony is at 11:30AM.

UICA -Joe Strummer Documentary (click for more info)The Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts will be showing the documentary, "Joe Strummer: The Future Is Unwritten".
Director Julien Temple draws on both a shared punk history and their close personal friendship, Temple's film is a celebration of Strummer before, during and after The Clash.
There will be an opening reception at 7:00 PM on Friday, January 11 featuring food and refreshments followed by a 9:00 PM screening.

Super Happy Old Time Radio (click for more info)The final event in the CMC Spotlight Series will be the Super Happy Old Time Radio Hour. WYCE and the rest of the media center celebrate community radio that is real, live and without commercial interruption. The Super Happy Old Time Radio event will celebrate the days when live radio shows were on stage and on radio simultaneously, featuring vignettes, serials and old style commercials. This show is produced and directed by members of Super Happy Funtime Burlesque with cameo appearances by WYCE programmers.
Two productions of The Super Happy Old Time Radio Event will be at Wealthy Theatre, 1130 Wealthy St SE on Saturday, January 19, a 2pm matinee, and an 8pm evening show. The evening performance will be simulcast live on WYCE and Livewire, digital cable channel 916.
