The Michigan Citizens for Water Conservation present "Water Song" a song writing contest, fundraiser and concert on June 30th from 2 to 10pm. This event will be held at Newaygo County Sportsman's Club. There will be musical performaces by Drew Nelson, Cherry Blosson Ramblers, Creek Side and many more. Activities such as horseshoes, a 50/50 drawing and a silent auction will be held. More information is available at www.savemiwater.org

The 14th annual Ottawa Hills Neighborhood Association Garden Tour will be held on Saturday, June 30, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This event is open to the public and free of charge. The Ottawa Hills neighborhood is bordered by Franklin and Hall Streets and by Giddings Avenue and Cadillac Drive. Visitors are encouraged to park in the north lot of Iroquois Middle School, 1050 Iroquois S.E., where they will be provided with maps to all participating gardens. WYCE is pleased to announce several concerts this summer season. -On Thursday, July 26, we welcome Jeffrey Foucault and Kris Delmhorst to The B.O.B. -That Sunday, July 29th, Dana Cooper and Dave Hardin will headline the Back Deck Music Fest on the Little Muskegon River in Newaygo. Drew Nelson and other local artists will also perform. -Then on Wednesday, August 1st, local artists The Icicles will open for national indie pop band Ladybug Transistor at Wealthy Theatre. -The Cow Pie Blues festival and WYCE's presentation of the Tuesday Evening Music Club at Meijer Gardens are also coming up in August. The Westside Farmers' Market and the Southeast Area Farmers Market are open for the season. The Westside market is held on Thursdays from noon until 6:00pm and Saturdays from 8:00am until noon in the rear parking lot of St. James Catholic Church located at 733 Bridge St. NW. The Southeast Area market takes place on Thursdays from noon until 6:00 p.m. in the parking lot adjacent to Martin Luther King Jr. park, at Franklin St. and Fuller Avenue SE. Both markets feature regional produce, baked goods and other locally made items.

CMC Fundraiser (click for more info)
The Community Media Center is sponsoring a special event as a fundraiser for its Capital Campaign: "Ballettschule Feibicke: From Berlin To Baxter." This touring German ballet company takes the main stage at 7:30 p.m. on July 20, at Wealthy Theatre. Tickets are available at Wealthy Theatre during box office hours, Wednesday and Friday 4-7PM. During the afternoon, ballet company members will teach two workshops: a free introductory workshop for community kids and a "master class". Tickets and other information are available by calling the Wealthy Theatre at 459-4788 Ext 130.
