Mabel Scott

Mr. Fine [1949]
Legendary Bop, Rhythm & Blues Classics: Mabel Scott 2010 via Classic Blues Ltd.
a note about this track

Blues Spotlight: Mabel Scott Developed Her Singing Voice In The Church. It Was Around 1932 That The Seventeen Year-Old Began Singing at Harlem's Cotton Club With The Cab Calloway Orchestra. Relocating To England By Way Of Cleveland, Miss Scott Recorded Her First Sides, And Embarking On A European Tour. The Second World War Forced Her To Relocate, And She Chose To Settle In Los Angeles. This Placed Her At The Epicenter Of The Postwar West Coast Jazz And R&B Scene. The Next Fourteen Years Were Fertile, Playing And Recording With The Heavyweights Of The LA Scene. After 1955, And Being Disillusioned With The Music Business, Miss Scott Returned To Her Gospel Roots. Mabel Scott Passed On In 2000.
