WYCE and The Intersection Lounge present the first annual BeneFest - this Friday, September 12th.
It's a Benefit and a Festival - all in one!
BeneFest is working to raise funds for 20 Liters, a local nonprofit dedicated to bringing clean water to Rwanda.
The inaugural event at The Intersection has been moved indoors due to weather. The Showroom stage features performances by The Crane Wives, Vox Vidorra, The Accidentals, and Channing + Quinn with Ralston Bowls as the MC. In "The Stash," music continues from "Eric Eng-blade", "Jonny Carroll", "Rio," and "Stovepipe Stover." DJ SuperDray spins records for the indoor after party.
Food & drink sponsors include Rockford Brewing, The Mitten Brewing, Lantern Coffee, Cult Pizza, Bartertown, Barfly Ventures, Loves Ice Cream and many more.
Doors open at 5:30. All ages welcome!
Tickets are available at Section Live dot com
Help improve WYCE while improving your record collection by shopping WYCE's Annual CD and Record Sale - at Eastown Street Fair this Saturday!
Over the summer, we've collected hundreds of CDs and hundreds more LPs, and we're putting them all on sale this Saturday for ONE DOLLAR each, with all proceeds supporting your community radio station.
These donated records span all eras and styles of music - from big band LPs to '90s Top 40 CDs, with plenty of YCE-style gems as well!
WYCE's Record & CD Sale takes place from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Eastown Street Fair, on Wealthy Street between Atlas and Lake Drive, this Saturday, September 13th.
Support for WYCE comes from the 33rd annual Cottage Bar Chili Cook-Off, Saturday, September 13th from noon to 6pm, sponsored by Founders Brewing Company.
Forty cooks will compete for bragging rights just outside The Cottage on LaGrave Avenue. Chili tasting begins at 3:15pm, food and drink tickets are available for purchase on-site, and a panel of local chefs and foodies will pick the winner. The event includes live music by "FOE-grass", "Darlene-yuh", and Vox Vidorra.
All proceeds will go to Grand Rapids White Water - putting the Rapids back in the Grand.
