Local video producers have organized something called Dick vs Jen. It is your chance to submit a 30- or 60-second video about either Dick DeVos or Jennifer Granholm. This is meant to be fun and non-partisan, so the organizers are looking for satire in particular. All the submissions will be screened at the Wealthy Theater on Sept. 21 and the audience will pick the winner. First prize is $500. The Grand Rapids Institute for Information Democracy is offering a production session on Thursday August 24th from 5-9pm at CMC Wealthy located at 1110 Wealthy St. Submission information is available at 459-4788 Ext. 122.

Frederick Meijer Gardens features the work of sculptress Vanessa Paschakarnis (pash-a-KAR-niss) this spring, with a meeting with the artist on March 24th at 2:00pm in the La Salle Gallery.
