Fountain Street Church will be exhibiting the Maitreya (my-TRAY-uh) Project's Heart Shrine Relic Tour the weekend of August 4th through 6th. This collection of Buddhist artifacts will be available for public viewing from 7:00 pm on Friday followed by daily viewings from 10-5 on Saturday and 12-5 on Sunday. The exhibit includes the remains of cremated buddhas, which some claim to emit spiritual healing energies. Fountain Street Church is seeking volunteers for the event. WYCE and Jukes bar announce the return of "The Tarbox Ramblers," Wednesday August 2nd, along with local all-female string band "Nobody's Darlin,'" featuring Delilah De Wylde, Karisa Wilson, and Sarah Q. The Tarbox Ramblers mix honkey-tonk, blues and rock, and are self-described as a "primitive blues and jug band." Influences abound, from Morphine to Wilco to Cassandra Wilson. Doors open at 7:00pm and the show starts at 8. Tickets are $5 in advance, but $7 day-of, and are currently available at VERTIGO MUSIC at Division & Cherry, and at Jukes, on Leonard just West of 131.
