Afie Jurvanen, known by his stage name BAHAMAS, is a Canadian musician, best known for the 2009 album Pink Strat, which was nominated for a Juno Award for 'Solo Roots & Traditional Album of the Year'. The Ontario singer-songwriter has worked with such musicians as Feist, Howie Beck, Jason Collett and Zeus. Recommended minimum donation is $10 to the evening's nonprofit, Specialized Language Development Center, bringing the power of reading, writing and spelling to individuals with dyslexia or other unique learning styles. WYCE is pleased to once again partner with the Eastown Community Association for the 2011 Eastown Street Fair. This annual celebration of the Eastown neighborhood - including its arts, crafts, food and music - will be even bigger and better this year. Sixteen Michigan bands will perform on two stages. Nearly 90 booths featuring some of the finest artists and crafts persons from all over Michigan will line the streets. And, of course, WYCE will be on hand with our famous Record and CD Sale. The 38th Annual Eastown Street Fair. Saturday, September 17th from 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Wealthy Street between Lake and Atlas.
