Community Spotlight (click for more info)
WYCE and the Community Media Center present an evening of independent music and film on Saturday, June 9th at Wealthy Theatre. The local premiere of the documentary film "Before the Music Dies" will examine the complicated world of the corporate music industry, and how independent artists are struggling to create their own success outside of the mainstream. The event will also feature performances from local artists before and after the screening of the film. "Keep the Music Alive" is a fundraiser for the CMC's capital campaign, and a chance to see how funds from that campaign are changing the technical capabilities of Wealthy Theatre. CMC's "Keep the Music Alive" fundraiser is Saturday, June 9th. Beer, wine and mixed drinks will be available as well as standard movie concessions. Cocktail hour begins at 6:00. Program starts at 7:00. More information is available at www.grcmc.org or by calling 616-459-4788 x133.
