WYCE and Calvin College present legendary singer-songwriter Judy Collins in a benefit concert for Grand Rapids musician, Ralston Bowles. The event takes place Thursday, December 10 at 8pm in the Chapel on the campus of Calvin College. Grammy Award-winning Judy Collins was one of the major folk interpreters of the 60's, quickly turning to original music and activism. She now owns Wildflower Records. Judy welcomes fellow Wildflower recording artists Amy Speace and Kenny White in a fund-raising effort to help cover the medical expenses of Ralston, who is battling cancer. A Winter's Tune brings new and traditional songs for the holiday season back to Wealthy Theatre, Sunday, December 6th at 2pm. This West Michigan tradition features area singer-songwriters sharing one Holiday classic and one brand new original song. This year's show features performances by more than 10 area musicians including Jen Sygit, Chance Jones, Rick Beerhorst, Juliet Bennett-Rylah, Nicholas James and, for the first time, the winner of the 'Winter's Tune Songwriting Contest'. A Winter's Tune - Sunday, December 6th at Wealthy Theatre. In addition to the concert, there will also be a silent auction featuring original art works, gift packages and guitars signed by artists from the Rothbury Music Festival. Tickets start at just $10, and 100 percent of the proceeds benefit WYCE.
