August is almost over, but there's still time for WYCE's presentation of the Tuesday Evening Music Club at Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park. Each Tuesday, we showcase a sampling of some of West Michigan's best local talent. The fourth week of the series features classic rockers Mid-Life Crisis and indie-pop group Sweet Japonic, performing on August 25th. The Tuesday Evening Music Club starts at 7:00 p.m. Admission is free to Meijer Gardens members. Non-members may simply purchase a day-pass, or stay tuned to WYCE for a chance to win tickets.

The Community Media Center presents the last in its "Three for Free" series of events at Wealthy Theatre. Join us Saturday, August 22nd at 8pm for "Salmagundi". This event is free to members of the CMC. It features a diverse combination of musical genres and two official ArtPrize entries! Symphony musicians will play with electric violinist Ritsu in the ArtPrize entry "FearScape"; percussionists from Glean Infusion back Chicago lyricist Nay Ink; ballet dancers from DITA perform; and Catherine Herrman will premiere her ArtPrize dance piece, called “Touching Peace.” Become a Community Media Center member at the event and enjoy bar privilege at Wealthy Theatre and discounts on many theatre events. The Eastown Streetfair celebrates in 36th year in September! This celebration of arts, crafts, food, music, and the Eastown neighborhood will be bigger than ever this year. Many West Michigan bands will perform on two stages and more than 75 booths featuring artists and crafts from all over Michigan will line the streets. In addition, all of Eastown’s retail and dining establishments will be open for business with ‘Streetfair’ specials. The 36th Annual Eastown Streetfair will take place on Saturday September 19th, along Wealthy Street between Atlas and Lake from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm. More information can be found at eastown.org
