Following a sold out WYCE show in 2006, The TARBOX RAMBLERS will make their return to Grand Rapids and Jukes Bar on Wednesday May 2. The Tarbox Ramblers have added a third member, and a number of new songs. All Music Guide calls their music a "train wreck of swamp blues, hillbilly, gospel, and woolly folk." Tickets for the Tarbox Ramblers are available at Jukes Bar, on Leonard St just west of 131, and at Vertigo Music. Doors at 6pm, show at 8. And now for a WYCE concert announcement: Karl Denson is coming back to Grand Rapids Tuesday May 15, with the "Greyboy Allstars!" The "Greyboy Allstars" are back together promoting their first album in over a decade, entitled "What Happened to TV," produced by the original cast of Karl Denson, DJ Greyboy, and James Brown's Music Director Fred Wesley. The touring group is a talented group of seasoned musicians--headed by Karl Denson--prepared for anything! The "Allstars" mix old-school funk with a creative new-world style of good-time jazz, and they will be playing the Intersection Tuesday, May 15 at 9pm. Support for the legendary "Greyboy Allstars" concert is provided by The Intersection. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster, Vertigo Music, and Aris' Disc Shop.
