Steven Van Zandt first met Bruce Springsteen on the Jersey Shore music scene in 1966 but didn’t become an official touring member of Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band until 1975, when he joined the “Born to Run” tour. In the years leading up to this 40-year partnership, “Little Steven” acted as co-leader, songwriter, vocalist and guitarist of Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes. He was inducted into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame in 2014 as a member of The E Street Band.
At the urging of producer David Chase, Van Zandt auditioned for and won a role on HBO’s The Sopranos, despite having no previous acting experience. He has since starred in three seasons of the crime dramedy Lillyhammer for Netflix.
Little Steven currently hosts Little Steven’s Underground Garage syndicated radio show, celebrating garage rock on more than 200 stations worldwide. He’s also Program Director for both The Underground Garage and Outlaw Country radio channels for Sirius Satellite Radio.
The new album from Little Steven - Soulfire - is out now.
