Singer/songwriter Eilen Jewell just released the new studio album Down Hearted Blues on September 22nd. Known for her ability to combine contemporary folk with the styles of Bessie Smith and Billie Holiday, Jewell has been recording and playing music for over ten years. Born in Boise, Idaho, Jewell began her music career street busking while she was a student living in Santa Fe, New Mexico. In 2005, while living in Boston, Jewell recorded a live demo album Nowhere in No Time. She followed up with the self released studio album Boundary Country the following year. Signature Sounds released her national debut album Letters from Sinners & Strangers in 2007.
With the second album - 2011's Queen of the Minor Key - Eilen and her band toured the world. The end result was the 2014 live double album Live at the Narrows. Following a relocation from Boston to her old hometown of Boise, she released Sundown over Ghost Town in 2015.
Eilen Jewell is currently touring Europe in support of Down Hearted Blues.
