Canadian band The Barr Brothers has just released the new album Queens of the Breakers. This is the third full-length studio project from the trio that describes its music as “sci-folk / mysterious roots”.

Brothers Andrew and Brad Barr spent most of the 90s criss-crossing North America, playing music with their spirited, improv-based rock trio, The Slip. Following a move to Montreal, Brad shared an adjoining wall with Sarah Page, a classically trained harpist from Montreal, whose melodies would seep through the cracks of the wall and into the music Brad was writing. a friendship developed and the brothers, with Sarah, began recording and performing around Montreal. Soon, their friend and multi-instrumentalist Andres Vial was brought in to lend his wide array of expertise to the outfit.

The band is coming to the States in late November and will perform at The Pike Room in Pontiac, Michigan on December 6th and Lincoln Hall in Chicago on December 7th.
