Married Canadian singer-songwriters Melissa McClelland and Luke Doucet have been recording together under the name Whitehorse since 2011. The couple had successful solo careers before deciding to collaborate on a project together, resulting in the duo's self-titled debut album. They followed that up with 2012's The Fate of the World Depends on This Kiss, which was shortlisted for Canada’s Polaris Prize.
In 2015, they released their third studio album Leave No Bridge Unburned, which won the Juno for best Adult Alternative Album. The group's most recent album, Panther in the Dollhouse, is out now. The album is a bit of a departure for the group musically going in a harder rocking direction. Part of this is due to a reaction against the limitations of the singer-songwriter label. McClelland says “labels like 'singer-songwriter' suffocate genres, give us limitations…and we're not interested in that, especially on this album."
