American Folk band The Wood Brothers are set to open for Bruce Hornsby at a sold out show at Frederik Meijer Gardens this Thursday. Born in Boulder, Colorado, brothers Oliver and Chris Wood moved to different parts of the country to pursue music careers.  Each brother found success on their own - Chris as one-third of the jazz group Medeski Martin & Wood and Oliver as a member of the band King Johnson.  In 2005, the two brothers came together to form The Wood Brothers with the help of third member, drummer Jano Rix.

The band released their debut studio album Ways Not to Lose in 2006. Since 2012 the band has been based out of Nashville. It's here that they recorded their most recent studio album, 2015's Paradise, at Dan Auerbach's Easy Eye Sound Studio. This summer The Wood Brothers will also tour in tour in support of The Tedeschi Trucks Band.
