California based string and bass ensemble The Dustbowl Revival will be bringing their unique spin on American roots music to Blissfest this weekend and Tip Top Deluxe Bar & Grill next Tuesday, July 11th.  Formed in 2007 by Zach Lupetin, the band just released their self-titled fourth studio album this past June.  One of the band's major breaks came in 2015 when they released the video for their single "Never Had to Go" which starred screen legend Dick Van Dyke.

According to Lupetin, some of the songs on the album are "more emotional, raw and dark, and get to certain fears and parts of my life that I wouldn’t have explored otherwise". Some of these fears are explored in love songs inspired by his fiancé.  For Lupetin being in love with another person created some anxieties that were not there before. This is explored on songs like "Got Over" which tells the story of a man who loses his love in a car accident.  The album also features a collaboration with Keb' Mo', who appears on the track "Honey I Love You". The band is currently set to play Blissfest this weekend.
